Quantity:
(Myrrhis odorata) Hardy perennial growing up to 90cm. Flat umbels of pleasantly perfumed flowers which have a flavour reminiscent of aniseed. Sweet Cicely has fern-like leaves. Leaves can be added to soups and stews or to stewed fruit. The root can be eaten as a boiled vegetable or grated raw into salads. Sow in autumn in a container of real garden soil. The seeds will not germinate until the next spring. When large enough to handle, plant out in humus-rich soil in a slightly shady position.
